Cecil Sharp’s Photo Collection

 
While Cecil Sharp was collecting folk songs he also took photos of many of the singers, dancers and others that he met on his travels. These photos are a unique record of the rural Edwardian working classes in both south west England and the Appalachian Mountains in the United States.

 Note that in many cases the attribution is as accurate as we can make it, but in many cases the subject of the photo is unknown. If you are able to correctly attribute these photos, or think we've got our attribution wrong, feel free to contact us and we will correct them.
